Backend Developer

Job Description

As a Backend Developer at Twodots, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic of our applications. You will work on building robust and scalable data processing pipelines, APIs, and microservices that form the backbone of our retail analytics platforms. You will be working with a variety of technologies to build high-performance systems that can handle large volumes of data.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs.
• Build and optimize data processing pipelines and ETL processes.
• Work with databases, both SQL and NoSQL, to store and retrieve data efficiently.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in backend development.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in a backend development role.
• Strong programming skills in at least one of the following languages: Java, Scala, or Python.
• Experience with a backend framework such as Spring Boot, Akka HTTP, or Django/Flask.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with stream-processing systems, such as Kafka or Spark Streaming.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working in the retail or e-commerce industry.
